    Josef Albers was a foundational inspiration to much of 20th Century art. A teacher at the famed Bauhaus school, he fled the Nazis to emigrate to the United States. He continued to teach at such prestigious schools as Black Mountain College and Yale. As an artist, Albers explored the underlying principles of colour theory through structure. He is best known for his iconic Homage To The Square series, where 3 or 4 squares of different colours interacted in beautiful and interesting ways.
